I'm Opal G, and Live Lux with Opal G wasn't created because I woke up one morning with the perfect business plan, a massive social media following, or some secret formula for success.

It was created because my life changed.

And I had to learn how to change with it.

I've Reinvented Myself More Than Once

My story didn't start with entrepreneurship.

I grew up without the kind of financial security or roadmap that makes success feel inevitable. I became a mother young, joined the Army at 17, and learned pretty quickly that if I wanted something different for my life, I was going to have to work for it.

And I did.

I built a career in federal service that lasted nearly two decades. I worked in environments where details mattered, accountability mattered, and figuring things out wasn't optional.

For years, that career represented security. A paycheck. Benefits. A title. A path I understood.

But eventually, I reached a point where I knew that the life I had worked so hard to build wasn't necessarily the life I wanted to spend the rest of my years living.

Walking away from what you've known for years is terrifying. Especially when you don't have the next chapter completely figured out.

Starting Over Looks Different When You're an Adult

Nobody really talks about this part.

Starting over at 20 sounds exciting. Starting over later in life — when you have bills, responsibilities, a family, a career history, and people who expect you to have your life figured out — feels completely different.

I had to ask myself:

Who am I without the career I've had for years?
What am I actually good at?
Can I build income differently?
Can I learn social media?
Can I create something people will actually pay for?
Can I build a business online when I'm still learning how half of this stuff works myself?

And maybe the biggest question: Am I really willing to start over and be a beginner again?

The answer became yes. Not because I wasn't scared. Because I realized staying comfortable wasn't going to create the life I wanted either.
